I'd go for 1155, better gaming performance when overclocked because it can overclock more. Unless I'm wrong, of course. You've also got to factor in that a 2011 board will cost more than an equivalent 1155 board, and will also draw more power, and create more heat (Although that can't be a bad thing this time of year)
If you just want the PC for gaming, the 3570k can't really be beat for value. Step up from there is the 3820 and 3770k, which perform similarly I prefer the 3820 purely because I can upgrade to IB-E a year and a half from now, while with Z77 I would have no upgrade path Also, if I got a 3770k I'd be too tempted to remove the IHS
There was a lengthy thread about this some time ago. What use are those features when an £80 board has all you need? This doesn't apply to everyone, which is why I recommend to buy whichever board has what you need. Surely the components are better on a board with a 3-year warranty rather than on one with a 2-year warranty? Fair enough on the overclocking part, but it's irrelevant if you're not looking for more than 4.5GHz, which is no problem for an £80 board. A 3570K + GA-Z77-D3H setup would cost £250. What kind of an LGA2011 setup can you configure for that? As I see it, spending anything more will end you up in the "diminishing returns" zone.
The 3770K is £80 more expensive than the 3570K, and the performance difference is negligible. As I said, "diminishing returns" zone.
Fair enough, £80 more for 10% more performance in certain applications. But can you configure an LGA2011 setup for £330?

Okay, so LGA2011 seems to be a decent option after all if you're willing to pay £80 for that last 10%.
this graphics card worth sticking a bid on ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230897104979?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
I'd be wary of that card if having a warranty is important to you. The seller says it has been watercooled, which means the original cooler (which has been reattached) has been removed, and on most cards the serial number or some other important sticker would have to be removed to get to at least one screw. That normally voids the warranty, so if it failed after a week/month you would be screwed.
So here is what im thinking... CPU - Core i7-3820 Mobo - Rampage IV Formula RAM - Corsair Vengance CML16GX3M4A2133C11B GPU - Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB Video Card What you think ? im not sure if the ram ive selected is the right stuff though. Should add to around the £900 mark
