I'll just chime in to say they've updated the website. I don't think I'll bother getting involved in this discussion. :worried:

What about it? Quite frankly it is wrong to be so dismissive, I wouldn't call your opinion on a matter stupid simply because it is at odds with my own.

That's true actually - although my office is a mixed bag. I do agree with your point about on here too - in tech related stuff I'm happy to be serious - but in the 'daft' threads, I'd just get sucked into arguing about the minutiae of things (and I spend all day doing that for my job...)

That rhetoric related to scroungers was used by George Osborne himself in his budget 2012 sleep, you know the one about the curtains being closed and sleeping away a life on benefits while a bloke goes out to do hard work, the sheer nastiness in that comment especially at a time when jobs aren't exactly the easiest thing to get.

The debt crisis in non EU countries was in the private sector not public and this depression we are in is the overhang from that where everyone in the private sector is trying to deleverage at once which is where the government is supposed to inject some cash into the economy through some short term infrastructure projects to counter the cycle. However when the government cuts at the same time there is a paradox of de leveraging when everyone is cutting at the same time leaves everyone owing more.

The ratings mean sod all in terms of the world's confidence in us which is funny because this is one of the first times a credit rating agency got it right. Because we will borrow a lot more in the long term the more we try to cut.

I don't think the serious people can hear us. Hello? Stop being so serious in a general thread, and let's all mourn the passing of this legendary pop diva together, not divided.

Shirty, I'm not sure you can call this giant piss fight a candidate for serious discussion.

After all, if we can't parade our poorly founded personal political ideology through the expressed adoration or detestation of a recently deceased political icon with crude manufactured metaphoric links to the issues of the current cultural democratic landscape, then what can we do?

Simple privatisation should be sufficient obviously with a healthy subsidy so the share holders get their dividends off course...

I don't know why I should, or indeed shouldn't, care about Thatcher.

I understand she was something of a "marmite" politician, who made roughly the same number of blunders and good calls as any other prime minister we've ever had..

These boards have had so many mentions of Marmite in the last few days. I'm beginning to suspect some sponsorship deals have been struck. Prove me wrong.

If Marmite were bribing me with Marmite I wouldn't be here to post anything at all.

    Marmite.

I'd never Marmite a Marmite product without them providing Marmite quantities for my consumption.

    ...Marmite.
