Unlimited Hyperbole is a podcast series I make. Episodes are short (no longer than 15 minutes) and are released in seasons (of five episodes) with a preset theme to guide them. I've just launched the fourth season today and the theme is: The One That Got Away. In this first episode I talk to Professor Brian Moriarty about unreleased games he worked on at Infocom and Lucasarts - Star Wars and Indiana Jones tie-ins, an early version of The Dig and unmade sequels to Loom too. He also talks about why he eventually left games development. http://joemartinwords.com/2013/03/27/unlimited-hyperbole-16/ I'm out of games journalism now, but I'd still like to keep this show going if possible. The only way I can see myself doing that is if the show becomes/remains popular - so please do tell your friends about the show through Twitter, Facebook, etc. At ten minutes long, it's not like the episodes are a waste of their time!
Your site looks really nice, very attractive on an iPad. Is it possible to add a subscribe button so that folks who amble by your site on an iPad can have your podcast added to the podcasts app? That sounds like laziness on my part, it's not, I just don't know if its possible to grab the URL and manually subscribe in the podcasts app!
Thanks! You should be able to subscribe using the links below it. If not: Subscribe in iTunes Subscribe via RSS (or any other app or feed system) You can also subscribe to the blog itself by entering your email at the bottom of the page (no spam) or following through Wordpress.
There's a new episode out today! In Episode Two one-time Bit-tech contributor David Brown talks about what it was like being the last writer standing on PC Zone Magazine, why print publishing is failing and how journalism could be improved. Link: http://joemartinwords.com/2013/04/03/unlimited-hyperbole-17/ I hate to plead with people, but I'm really trying to get behind the show and get people listening at the moment and it really helps support the show if you tell your friends about it. It doesn't matter if you post on another forum or blog, if you plaster it over Facebook or just send out a single tweet - every little bit really does help. Tell everyone what your favourite episode is! (Positive iTunes reviews are also appreciated!)
http://joemartinwords.com/2013/04/10/unlimited-hyperbole-18/ A new one! Introversion talk about their cancelled heist game, Subversion - and how it fed into Prison Architect...
Another new one! http://joemartinwords.com/2013/04/17/unlimited-hyperbole-19/ Nicoll Hunt talks about the closure of Realtime Worlds, the failure of APB and a cancelled Operation Flashpoint game he worked on!
Thanks Joe, this one hits really close to home. I've been following APB since it was first announced (by Webzen at the time) and I'm currently coordinating a volunteer test program for the relaunched version of the game.
Loved the last episode Joe, it was great to learn more about AI in games. Looking forward to Season 5
I'm currently asking anyone who liked the show to nominate Unlimited Hyperbole for Best Games Podcast in the Games Media Awards. http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=259984
