Too true, I've been following this since the beginning, but apart from my initial post have been admiring it in silence. I really like paint colour choices you've gone with, white and metallic gray/silver work really well together.
No worries on things being quiet. As long a views keep going up it means that people are still looking. Thanks about the paint. Overall it's coming together well. It's nice to finally get it out of my head and on my desk.
Small update. Since the buttons are hidden and the foam is nice an pliable I added some simple indents with a lego piece to indicate where the power and reset are. Subtle but easy to find. And a couple of magnetic catches to finish the door off.
it is getting sweeter and sweeter everytime I check on your updates Edit: as soon as I posted my comment, I saw that you were featured by Asus US
Featured by ASUS US? I did get the project tweeted by them. Is that what you're referring to or something else?
Brief update. Have some parts coming in. Most notably a 4-pin PWM power distribution PCB. Should be nice and easy to hide on the inside of the box and allow the motherboard to manage the front panel fans. And, fingers crossed, some other news soon too. Here's the box with the mouse I mentioned earlier in the worklog.
A little more detail work on the front entrance during Canada day. Off to the garage to paint some pillars!
!!! RENOVATIONS !!! Working on making 'Downtown' my main rig. As such I'm investing in bumping up the parts on the inside. Some reinforcements arrived this week: I picked up some add ons for the camera. Hopefully I'll have some better pics of projects going forward. Much thanks to the fine folks at Gigabyte for agreeing to sponsor a Z97X-SLI motherboard for my little project. CPU & memory ordering is underway. Also have a line on a new PSU & cooling. Hoping to have details on all of that soon. Hoping to get this sexy new mobo up and running in the project soon!
As far as the external look goes it's where I want it to be. It's got that architecture model feel that I was shooting for. Still considering putting a helipad on the roof. Will depend on the PSU I get. If I need to cut a hole in the roof for ventilation then I'll add the pad to it. Otherwise I'm just focusing on the internal look right now. Thanks for asking!
I was watching back to the future the other day and he had the town all built out of white poster board to plan the deloreans run to 88 mph. reminded me of this build
I love the plastic pipe wire conduit inside. I keep forgetting you did that, then see a peek of it in the photos with the door open.
