    Hi folks,

My 6 year old pc is in need of a refresh, the original was built from recommendations from this forum and has performed admirably for all that time. As always I'm looking for the best bang per buck.

    Budget:
    600-800

    Main uses of intended build:
    Gaming (CSGO), programming, Web browsing

    Parts required:
    CPU Motherboard Ram GFX SSD

Previous build information (list details of parts):
    CPU: I have a Q6600 over clocked to 3.4ghz
    MB: Asus p5e x38
    RAM: Corsair cx750
    Hdd: 36 Gb Raptor + 2 x Samsung 75gb in raid 0
    Sound: Xonar Dsg
    Monitor: Samsung 226bw
    Gfx: 650ti

    Monitor resolution:
    1900x1200

    Storage requirements:
    Will keep Samsung hdds

    will you be overclocking: yes

Any motherboard requirements (no. of USB, Xfire/SLI, fan headers): not really nothing out of the ordinary.

Extra information about desired system: I am looking at getting the iiyama 2248 to replace my monitor which I have taken out of my budget already. So leaves 600-800 for all the other bits.

    Thanks for any input :D

Ok so i started to spent sometime researching and came up with this

    http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/twun/saved/XYbV3C

I have a coolermaster stacker 830 case, which is a good air cooler to go for that will fit I want to do some mild overclocking?

are there any parts you would change?

    thanks again

well i finally bought all my parts, with the black friday + cyber weekend i managed to get this build for £700, saving of just over £100.

cant wait to put it together :D

Nice, very expensive but nice build. i think i7 is overkill for gaming and for single gpu you won't need oc and evga was a bad choice, the cooler on the 900 series evga cards are misplaced ( they re-used them from other vgas). As far as i know the only good 900 vgas are from Gigabyte (the G1 gaming) and Asus. (evga crap cooler, msi cheap stuffs and loud coil whine)

yeah i know the i7 is overkill, but i didnt find any deals on i5s and for the same price as i got i54690k + msi mb i could get the i74790k and the Asus MAXIMUS VII RANGER, so to me there is no loss.

ok thanks about the evga cards, this is the first i have heard of that problem, i will look more into it.
