I subscribed to Make Magazine for the first 9 years, but then they changed the magazine format and my diminishing interested vaporized. Now I get nothing.
same, i often find myself reading articles about subject i've no interest in as i find most of them to very well written.
I stopped PCAdvisor for two reasons. The magazine became far to business orientated. But more importantly the PCAdvisor forums are run not moderated by an idiot who would give any third world dictator a run for there money. It was his way or no way but of course he had his coterie of sycophants that took brown nosing to another level. What made it worse his knowledge of PC's and related tech was woefully inadequate.
I had no idea this was a thing - even though I've used Zinio in the past for paid subscriptions - and it turns out my local library is indeed a member. Cheers for that!
Currently subbed to Digital Photographer, really like the mag a lot. Has some great tutorials every month, as well as insights from pros that can be really interesting. The kit reviews are nice, but that's all easily available online now so it's mostly the interview-type stuff that I pick it up for now. My photography as come on leaps and bound thanks to the bits and bobs listed there. Sure it'll all be available somewhere online, but the trick there is having to look for it to begin with, which is kinda hard if you don't know a technique exists to begin with or don't know the right search terms.
Used to subscribe to Vogue, GQ and Evo, but found they stacked up quite a bit and reading turned into a chore, so cancelled them. Now I only read Departures and BMW Magazine, as the turn up at me door without me having to pay for them, and that suits me just right.
