I love those cars. I had a hard time finding that Jetta here in the Netherlands after Fast and the Furious. I was obsessed by Jesse's white Jetta. After 2 months it turned out they're called Vento's here Anyway, perfect project!!
Incredible. That's SO much better than the system that comes in the BMW 7 series, and I bet its cheaper too! Damned.
Awesome project. I'd be more than proud to have it sitting on my desk, and yet it's stuffed away in a trunk somewhere. Now that we've seen how you did the computer hardware, it would be sweet to see how your friend fit it into the car and handeled the software end. I'm looking forward to your next project. I've wanted to do an mp3 box for a long time, but it gets so cold in my car during the winter (and hot during the summer). I'm afraid it would get damaged.
yeah, i'm really interested in not only the software, but how he molded the area for the screen too. got any info for us, please, kind sir?!
Very nice…good looking, yet functional. A beautiful piece to be locked away in a trunk… P.S. Love the view...I didn't spot any fishing poles... P.S.S. Mighty fine look’n Mark
Great case. Something you could do to the corners is get some aluminium corner cubes Like so Might Neaten The corners And lift the base off the ground a Bit
wow, very nice project, when it is in the car is it just sitting there or is it mounted or fixed down in some way, anyways very good work
Jetta Software looks like MediaEngine with a custom skin. Nice use of space, my cupholders are teh suck in my 1997 MK3. I put my cups on either side of the e-brake.
Great Job! I've been dreaming up an idea for a case similar to this but with a built in LCD I'm just sad it will be hidden in the trunk of a car
capacitors usually have a plastic coating for that reason. If i remember my physics lesson right, that part of the capacitor isnt actualy attached to any of the plates inside. still i could be wrong.
Hi Spyder I seldom post anything here, cause I get ideas for a progect and it never materializes. But I am really interested in the software used for the system you made. I can so use that in my car at this point and time. Thanks. KOji
Spyder, what touchscreen, LCD did you use. I've been looking into doing some thing like this, but can't really decide on an LCD.
Your case fan creates some nice subtle lighting especially with the slightly see-through blue acrlyic case panel, looks really nice.
major props on this project: that is some hot action you've got there. The blue plexi is amazing with the lighting and the touchscreen is just icing on the cake. Bravo!
