Let's see those etches you have made or had done, I'll start it off with some of mine:
Fighter etch and Celtic knotwork etched in this window, I drew the fighter from a picture in a book and then used it for a template to create the etch
    [IMG]
I etched the CD faceplates here in the front
    [IMG]
top window with various Celtic knots etched in
    [IMG]
Valinor tree etched onto drive cage area plexi and a JRRT logo with knotwork around it etched into the fake floor
    [IMG]
and here is a etch of Venom I drew from the cover of a book I have and then used the drawing as a template to make the etch

I've seen some nice etches around the forum so lets post them all here if possible. :hehe:

borumas, did you use a flex shaft for that (I'm assuming you used a dremel?)?

also, how did you go about making the etch. Did you place a drawing underneath the glass or something? And then how did you do the etching on the non-transparent pieces?

Yeah on some of it I used a flex shaft for conveniance but it wasn't needed really, I drew almost all the etches in pencil freehand and then put them under the plexi to trace it onto the clear protective film then I etched the other side so when done I could peel the film off and have the marker go away easily. The etch on the ringwraith window was done the same way but after it was finished I used and orbital sander on both sides to give it that nice cloudy look. The painted panel were done the same as well, but after the etches were done I just painted right on top of them, as you can see the etches show through the paint pretty well. The front faceplates were done a bit differently in that I etched the front side and painted the back side so the etch has a more white appearance.

I used a Dremel with #105 and 106 engraving bit for all that work.

    Your etches are amazing :)

    It's not my name.

It's album art from "The Police - Ghost in the machine"

I was going to light it up with a red light but never did. I also made a mistake of using blue plexi. i may re do it in clear.

    Thanks
