Hey lovely people! I picked up a new AMD 5950x and an ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F gaming - and though it'd swap them into an old watercooled PC I've had kicking around for an age. Issue is that the PC is an Intel 4970x motherboard (yea , that old!) so the waterblock mounting sadly does not fit the new AM4 chips. As such I'm now in the market for a new AM4 waterblock and connectors for 12mm//16mm tubes - does anyone have any recommendations - it doesn't need to look good as it's in a windowless case that sits in a cupboard! thanks in advance,
I went for an EK Quantum Magnitude for my AM4 because to upgrade to AM5 all it needs are some different standoffs.
thanks! looking at https://www.ekwb.com/shop/quantum/cpu-cooling/cpu-water-blocks/ek-quantum-magnitude/amd?limit=48 - is there any techncail difference between them or is it just the final finish//what it looks like?
just finish also if you are after AM4 cooler some deals to be had in the clearance section https://www.ekwb.com/shop/clearance/clearance-water-blocks/cpu-water-blocks
I run a 5600X with an Aquacomputer Kryos Next block, fantastic thing. They perform basically the same as EH blocks while being massively cheaper, the AM5 version is £56! They even do ones with LED screns that do temperature sensing if you're so inclined!
