Would I see much benefit in going from a R9 380 4gb to an Rx 580 and if so would 8gb be visibly better than 4gb? I rarely get to use the PC for games but upgraded from an Athlon FX 8350 recently and I'm wnodering if I could get a low budget upgrade from CEX or similar to bring the GPU into line!
    Running a Ryzen 5500 with 16gb DDR4 and a 24" 2k display.

Oh yes. That's quite a substantial upgrade.

Thanks, I do scour the GPU comparison sites but even those benchmarks don't reassure me on their own. Useful to get into from real people on here! Local CEX has a 8GB 580 for 85 pounds which is tempting. I think I am right in going for that over the 1060 6GB they have for £80?

This anandtech review has both cards and you can also see the performance gap in their bench section

There's very little performance difference between a 580 and 1060.
