So long as there are pictures, I think we can forgive you

I am finally chewing through my 'bought to paint and have no desire to keep' models, and my 'backlog' shelf is actually kind of empty now that these are done too:

i can see 3d printing layer lines on the Ta'unar where the master was printed and those lines have imprinted on the moulds

its pixel marks, from where the master model was 3d printed, but nobody took the time to clean up the part on a £300 model, so now those printing marks are permanently etched into each model they make
using Anti Aliasing would of softened this up ALOT, but they use much older printers without AA support, so alot of Forgeworld ( and GW for that matter) models end up with printing artifacts

All the while GW are declaring war on 3d printed proxies and conversion parts

    Aha!
Gotcha. And wowsers. That's pretty poor QC.

This hobby has changed so much since I was burning bullet holes in banners with a hot paper clip and attaching Gears-style chainblades to bolters.

But for £300+ on one battlesuit, you'd think the game would have been lifted somewhat.

*looks vaguely at FW's multi-grand titan model*

yeah, you'd think they'd ensure the quality is top notch when charging that much...

I love FW products, but they really hide behind the 'it's for advanced modellers!' thing far too much. The old ones were for advanced modellers because the instructions were garbage and nothing particularly fit right.

The new ones are for advanced modellers because you have to fill every flat surface and re-flatten it, which I'd argue is harder than the old stuff.

What's absurd to me is that FW got their 'start' making big stuff, and while that was a PITA to build, it still looked pretty damn good.

Now, their smaller Necromunda models are way better than the bigger stuff.

In fairness, it does come in a nice box with a numbered certificate.

Is the certificate badly photocopied, to fit in with the 3d print quality?
