The project is alive and kicking! Managed to get some time off, to get the needed hardware and time to get the project going again. The project is now called "Soyuz" because of the old-school look and feel. The aluminium covered insulation and the industrial look combined with the retro design got me thinking about the first spaceships and hence the name. The case also has four "engines" like the first Soyuz rocket And some piccies: Detail of the insulation and the mobo-tray. The feet. The control module with some knobs and switches, and an Aquatube. The power module at this stage of the process.
Glad to hear it. Well I'm glad to see that your back and in action and the case is going to be progressing. I'm just wondering why your incorporating 4 red-x's into your case? I dunno if it's just be but I only see red x's. I'll be checking on your progress! *subscribed* EDIT: The pics are there now. Sweeeeeeeet
hooray! I was still subscribed to this one.. glad to hear you've got the burning mod passion back GL!
Now that pictures are up and I can see the sweetness of your case. well yeah. You get the idea. Great progress, love it. Keep up the good work and it'll pay off. Love t3h case. BTW what kindo fans are those?
Thanks! The fans are 120x120x25 Y.S.Tech FD1212255S-1I fans with ball bearings. 2200rpm, 92Cfm, 39db. Should move some air... Hopefully They aren't like jet engines and I can manage to hold them in course with my fanbus More.. My Abit IC7 MAX3 with 2x512Mb Corsair PC4000Pro memory and Swiftech block. The command module connectors. I love those quick hose connectors The cut plexi to the front.
Looking good! Just wondering if you have any sound dampening in mind? because those fans are going to be a lil loud
+10mm of noise insulation foam +1.5mm steel +10mm of foam +1.5mm steel --- =total material layers: 20mm of noise insulation and 3mm steel +fanbus for all 4 fans = everything runs at 4V +noise insulated air channels for both intake and outlet air = no fans in diect sight + no fans in PSU at all and no fans in either Northbridge nor GPU --- =no sound? Have to wait and see how my plans worked out...
looks great - missed it the first time round. very nice Sketchups - can I link this thread in my Sketchup Component Collection?
Oh yeah! Been working hard on the case. Some minor setbacks like too small holes and such. But nothing a little dremeling can fix The wiring is somewhat done and all the hardware is mounted atleast somehow. The watercooling has been leak-tested and it works fine. Couple of wires to go and I'm ready to fire the baby up for the first time!! I'm a little scared though as there are so much stuff that can be done wrong... Picture update is coming as soon as I can get my rig up again. It's hard to upload pics without a computer So stay updated!
seems a bit risky taking the fan off the GPU.is there some bigass heatsink still attached or something?
Yes, I am... This is my first post with my new setup! So nothing went disastrously wrong.. phew. BTW I eas a bit more worried about taking the fans off the PSU than the GPU But my Enermax actually is running cooler now than before So a winning strike for my design!
