Any clue where I can find good quality front-loading drives? By front-loading I mean the kind with just the small slit in it for the CD or DVD (Ideally I'd like a DVD Rom drive and a CD-RW Drive) like some cars have instead of having to press a button to have the tray come out. I know that somebody on here had a beige one that they used for a cool tutorial on LED's in it, but I don't know what brand it was. Any ideas?
Its from pioneer. http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=23375 that's only for dvdrom, i'm not sure about cdrw
cdrw or dvd-+r slotin drives are only available from panasonic/matsu****a, but they are a bit pricy cause they're notebook drives.
I also have the logic supply panasonic cdrw. It is kinda of expensive because you need to buy the ide adpater and a mounting bracket for the drive. If you do buy the bracket you can install your hdd in it like i did. Saves a lot of space. Edit: This is the one i have. logic supply
not true Pioneer 16X DVD-ROM Drive Slot Load 16X Max Internal DVD/40X CD. High Speed access times - 95ms DVD-ROM & 80ms CD-ROM. Read single & dual layer DVD-ROM, DVD-R and DVD-RW discs. OEM $40 CAD
He has two notebook slot loaders mounted in 5.25" bay adapters, which each also have a space for a 3.5" drive (one's a floppy, one's a card reader IIRC). Showoff indeed.
