Windows NEEDED! an ameriaca's army player

basicly i want, ney, NEED to play this game so i was wondering of i could get a sorta talkthrough of what the games like........before i waste ppl's time ordering the CD as i only have 56K

 

Its great

 

The game rocks. A great engine, balanced teamplay. Its best if you have a team working with you, all talking, report positions, etc. Excellent collection of maps. The dev team is always working on it, improving, adding things. New weapons will be added to the next version...future weapons even.

I can't say anything bad about it at all.

You _might_ have a problem playing it on 56K though. They are having a server problem right now that can cause pretty bad lag on broadband connections, so your dial-up will choke.

 

dmcm01 it is good but the whole game requires you to be online to progress and then to play. so i dont really reccomend it for 56k

 

i think i should be getting BB soon, hopefully, but i live in the sticks so i might only be able to get a crappy one! i think that a free 700mb game is totally amizing, its bad news for game develepers, but great for opensource
might try to get a CD offa some person then, ill try it on 56k but i can see the problem with it. thanks.

 

I dont think the training level is online

 

I have been an AA player since the begining and haven't looked back since. It's a great game! The maps vary widely, here's a list that shows the missons and maps:http://www.americasarmy.com/intel/missions.php

I've been in a clan for a while now too, best gaming experience I've had. I have seen 56kers online, but their pings suck. Give it a try!

You can also play offline to get to know that maps, granted it's not the same experience but you could learn the maps and objs. LAN is fun!

Really good game apart from the complete snobbery from players.

Join a server play for 2 mins get kicked, message saying something along the lines of "newbie, go away" ive had the game for a few months completed the training fully, and not once played a full round online, its totally crap.

 

I've been playing from the initial release as well and have never come across a server kicking noobs. As long as you don't camp on assault you should be fine. I don't know where you've been playing Chr!s but there are far better servers out there.

A quick search of the AA site turned up this, along with a ton more info, but you need to search for that on your own.

39 out of 40 myself. Easily done. I sneezed and bumped the trigger, otherwise 40/40.

Here in the states they have the cd's at the recruiters. I dunno about across the pond. I think you just need to leave your system on overnight downloading it. That or surely someone else over there wouldn't mind burning it for you and dropping it in the post.

www.americasarmy.com then go to downloads, then afaik its the bottom left download link on the windows section to order the 'free' cd but it costs about £5 to ship it to the UK, its all sorted via paypal too wich is good, any other link on the page sends you too a 700Mb download
