    Well, you have a few problems there . . . .

here is a normal 120MM fan:
    12 VCD
    .40 amp
    4.8 watts

    Here is your fan:
    115vac
    50/60Hz
    40 watts

Basically, its designed to plug into a wall. So, if you did that (plug it into the wall), then sure it would work fine. Otherwise, forget it.

Careful with those fans because they are VERY powerful and could really FUBAR some of your kit (unsecured PCI cards, RAM etc). I'd love to give it a try but at like 65dB, I think that's a little too much for my ears to handle......and my neighbours :D

    "only 60dB" lol

If you want the peformance of the top one just get a delta 120mm, specs:
    - Speed - 4000RPM
    - Output - 190 CFM
    - Decibels - 59dBA
    - Dimensions - 120x120x38

Go for the EMB blower. You can build your system right into the exhaust duct. The CPU may still need some water cooling. They are tearing down a nuclear power plant in my area. I heard the pumps (5MW) and heat exchangers for fresh water intake are still available as surplus. :hehe:

Alastor, why not, it would move a lot of air, and if positioned right, you could remove almost all need for other case fans. The 240 volt fans, can you put a rheostat on them to slow them down. Im thinking of getting a 150 mm 240 volt fan for my case, because they dont sell 12v versions in nz

The main reason I didnt is because there isnt a hole big enough to fit it in...

It'd have to go in the 5.5" drive bays, of which I only have 3 spare (crappy Tsunami ST64 case), which is only 140mm at most. I will be putting a 120mm in the space sometime, if I can find one quiet enough for a reasonable price...

Problem being I need to try and find a decent powered 3 pin one, as i have no free drive bays (with the 120 in) to put a real fan controller :sigh:

Thought so - that means plugging it into the wall probably wouldn't have the desired effect ;)
