    SuperPi - new version

    saw this on another site

sierra posted this on the www.abxzone.com
"Someone has come up with an anti-cheat version of SuperPi that gives times down to the millisecond. Pretty cool program. Thanks to gocchin who first alerted me to it. You can download and read more about it"

hate to say it, but no matter what you do, i doubt you'll get some kingmax to run cas2 at those speeds. Imho, you'd be better off trying to get the Ras to Cas or Ras precharge down to 2.

The chips are hynix chips. and they do pretty well for the price. Newegg has that set now for 158bucks for dual chanel gig (2x512) but they are currently out of stock, check the bargain bin for them.

your probly rite but I shure will try to get it down if not then nothing lost. The ram does 2-2-2-5-8 at 200fsb @ 2.5v stock, my general experience with kingmax ram has be generaly very good. I used to have a single stick of pc3200 cas 3 ram that used to do cas 2.5 at 200fsb and at cas 3 it went as high as 240fsb, maybe it could have gone more but thats as high as my cpu will run stably.

Now that... that's fast... I've just pulled a 35s superpi here.... all i did was went into the motherboard's bios, let it automatically time things, set FSB to 278, Multi to 9, Volts to 1.55, PCI to 33 PCI-E to 100 and dram left at 2-2-2-11. The board has the ram at a lowly 360 Mhz but still. I think i'll have to let it automatically sort my timings.

Alright, just so you know, I am a noob to overclocking. I'm not really into it, but more just interested into seeing what my system can do.

I've got two pics to show. One is without any "enhancements" (Asus AI NOS) and one with the settings at 108% (110% wasn't stable and kept crashing).

If you guys have any ideas on how to get more outta my system (without completely killing it) just let me know and I might try it out.

    Drunk!

PS: I just realized that the CPU-Z says the same on both. Is that normal?

The asus NOS system may well only overclock the cpu/system when its under load, that would be why both cpu-z shots read stock settings
Try loading the cpu a little, that should give you the settings its running at :)

I finally managed to get a time worth posting with my ClawHammer 2800+.

    Processor: AMD 64 2800+
    clock: 2538 Mhz
    FSB: 282 Mhz
    Motherboard: MSI K8N Neo s754
Memory: Corsair Value Select @ 235Mhz 6:5 (somehow cpuz gets wrong devider) 2.5-3-3-8 1T (2.85V)
    Cooling: Water DD Maze4

I think the memory is the bottleneck in OC'ing more.

    Processor: AMD Athlon64 3000+ (90nm)
    Motherboard: Abit AV8
    Memory: OCZ 3700 1GB DUAL Channel 466 MHz (2.5-3-3-8 1T)
    Cooling: NorthQ 3312 Giant UFO
    Power supply: NorthQ 400W

    Clock: 2250 MHz
    FSB: 250 MHz
    Memory @ 500 MHz [1.8v]
    V.Core [1.5v]
AGP, NB, SB and HyperT voltage raised by .5 each
HDT (Think that's it rather than HTT): FSBx4 (Instead of FSBx5)

Temps: 40°C idle, 50°C load (I assume, temperature's on the AV8's are screwed on almost every board.)

Pretty happy with this outcome :)

    CPU-Z shows default 1.4v vcore but it's 1.5

    Totium signing out.

totium, get rid of everything you dont need running, and your time should drop a second or two!!

Also to prevent getting moaned at, please use the new version of superpie that gives times with decimal places, its available on the first page of this thread.

Well.. I upped the clock to near 2.3ghz, same voltage [1.5v].

    27.189s

It didn't make any difference closing all apps and clearing memory but this should be stable as it is now.

you should be pushing the limits of your board now. Av8's go mad over 255~htt, unless you can manage to run "fixed74" without your gfx card going mad. 3x LDT is broken aswell, so you'll have to drop it to 2x to get it stable over 255-260.
and yes the temperature monitoring is well and truely screwed.

    oh man, terrible

This is my terrible SuperPi performance. I don't have an overclock on it, but if you wanna see something bad, go to my photobucket album, it's the first pic.

    http://photobucket.com/albums/v478/Neogumbercules/

I had AIM, Steam and Creative SoundSource running, but the results probably wouldn't have been much different if they were closed. I just had to post these terrible results. If my timings weren't locked I would OC the crap out of this thing, seeing as how I'm getting a whole new system in a couple of weeks.

firstly, that is pretty bad. secondly, it wouldn't be as bad if you ran 1m, as opposed to 2m ;)
