The Anandtech write up about the upcoming Larrabee "GPU-CPU" sounds very promising, its definitely a very drastic turn from what we're used to in terms of GPU technology (replace hardware upgrades, with software upgrades). The technology, no doubt, is very impressive but now the question is... can Intel sell it to the developers? Will their software OpenGL/DX interface provide reasonable performance? The ability to write in native Larrabee C (C++) sounds great, I really do wish Intel all the best in this venture because its about time GPU's had their own little revolution in terms of technology and in the case of Larrabee, a revolution of interpretation with regards to what constitutes a GPU. The next few months will be interesting, that's for sure. Intel has finally awoken and they're pumping out some seriously awesome new hardware (Core 2, Atom, Larrabee, and more).
