6 DDR3 slots, looks like a bit of fun lol. Good to see the heatsink array is held on with screws not push pins. That OC Palm looks like a really good idea but I think it may just be a gimmick for sales. Over all it looks like a very visually and feature appealing board. However my DFI 680ilt board is still going great lol, no upgrade for a few years.

the colour scheme looks bad-ass. but the MCH heatsink doesn't look very effective at dissapating heat.

OC Palm? looks like it'd be useless for on-the-fly OC, but im excited about a hardware monitor :) no need to buy G15 anymore
and what's with 16 phase power when Gigabyte and all other company only used 6 or 8.

Nice to see we're still getting floppy and PS2 ports, even on a motherboard from the FUTURE.

Why oh why do they continue to add floppy and IDE support?i don't want it, it clutters up the board in my opinion.
"Asus, listen up, do a stripped down version of this, get rid of those pesky ide channels, and the PS2 ports on the back, add more usefull things like USB, and SATA connections, please"....No? worth a shot at least.

This board does look tasty, and i was looking to go Nforce 790i, but i may hold fire and look at this if it supports dual 280gtx's.

Until you see the bill and reach into the bottom of your wallet. If it was DDR2 then you would be very happy with 6 cheap 1gb sticks.

    I agree.

The board layout looks awesome. Almost all the little things 'we' don't want seems to be fixed. Except for those two non 90 degree sata connectors, but seeing the space that on the board I will forgive them...

sorry what exactly are 5000hour capacitors, if thats their lifespan then thats a bit naff.... Looks nicely featured though, as previously mentioned scrap ide&floppy, they dont have a place on high end boards anymore.

sweet, i'd love to see what thi board can with all the ultras and super mega hyper phalanges that asus says it has...plus what will asus do for the ROG, and what will the price of the rog be, maybe upwards of £300? anyways, nice new bit of hardware, cant wait for the testing

I'm wondering the a) cost and b) PCI-e 16x arrangement for CrossfireX. They appear to be different colors, so doesn't that mean they don't normally run at full 16x when placed in Crossfire? I've generally seen boards use the same color PCI-e 16x connectors if it supports full 16x/16x, but this one doesn't.

Hopefully all will be revealed with the full review.
