Over £300 and it DOESN'T include any drives???

    Seriously?

Also where are the benchmarks vs other NAS boxes? Detail of the tests run?

Probably time to read the article again gaming-king - the inference is that the DS211+ uses software tricks to be able to beef up its performance to similar levels to this N2200XXX, not that they have the same hardware.

Apologies, it looks like we forgot to publish the second page of this review, which would have all the results graphs. Once we get back in the office on Monday we'll add them on.

NAS boxes are becoming a bit of a joke now price wise, HP Proliant Microserver for £125 after cash back anybody?

I spent £25 on a single 4GB ECC module and haven't quite filled the 250GB drive it came with yet, it saturates my gigabit network with FreeNAS 7 installed running off a memory stick. Awesome build quality, low power consumption and the processor is a good deal faster than those in NAS drives costing far more.

Plus you can turn it into an HTPC with the 4x PCI-E slot or add a hardware raid card, absolutely stunning deal.

    This.

But I am running Win 7 because I am using it for other tasks which require it to run windows based software. I used non ECC memory because it was £12, and it works just as well.

    this:
    http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/sm/WF25a/15351-15351-4237916-4237917-4237917-4248009.html
    or its older brother:
    http://www.ebuyer.com/253305-hp-proliant-athlon-ii-neo-n36l-microserver-100-cashback-633724-421
and here you can get 100 pound cash back, bring the total to: 130.

These run AMD Neo CPUs and are there for much better Clock for clock as they support out of order execution.

Please Bit-Tech get this in the NAS BOX reviews as it is in the same price category but offers so much more. (yes it is a server and not a NAS)
