I'm drooling at how low the power consumption and temps are based on the performance... WELL DONE AMD!

Not often I say this about an AMD card but that's a damn good card. Near 580 performance for £275 with mega low temps and power consumption. Nicely balanced AMD :)

Good to see a card with promise from team red!

PS: This 'no score' thing going to be the future for hardware then?

Oh, oh my. I'll be waiting to see if Sapphire release a Vapor-X model. This could be a likely candidate to replace my 5870 Vapor-X.

I`m more of this mindset, the low temp and superb power consumption appears to be the biggest gain but popping premium prices because of this looks like cashing in on their early entry to the market.
Everything they do so far is inspiring me to wait till April.

doing a CF review? would be nice to put it up against a 5870>6870>7870 in CF (or the xx50 as well)

noticed the huge hole in pricing - £120 for the 7770 > £190 for a 7850 , can see them coming down a bit in pricng tbh once kepler is here

    Baz's great big response

7950 slightly delayed - will be up by end of the day hopefully.

If it's not actually on sale, maybe. Got burnt by the HD 7870 3GB review and wrong pricing for the HD 7770 review; want to make sure when we pop the score on that it's right first time.

    HD 7870 pre-orders http://www.ebuyer.com/search?q=7870&x=0&y=0 around £275
    HD 7850 pre-orders http://www.ebuyer.com/search?q=7850&x=0&y=0 around £200

cor, my guesstimate was right! Interestingly, the due date is 23rd of march though...

Good card for the price and the temp and power usuage, but performs basically the same as my GTX 480 so I will stick with that for now.

I'm loving the thermals and power usage of that, very tempting, but I hate a paper launch. If I'm going to impulse buy any components it's not going to be with unclear pricing and having to find a retailer that allows a pre-order. I'm going to lose all my hype by the time this comes out... which is almost definitely a good thing. Prices should come down when Nvidia puts out their cards, not to mention I'd love a Vapor-X model too.

theres still £80 between the 7770 and 7850 - either they will release something else or the price will come down

AMD really have lost the plot with pricing on these 7xxx series cards.

If the 78xx cards really are just a replacement for the 69xx cards, then these should have been called the 7950 and 7970, that way the prices wouldn't look so ridiculous.

The current 79xx cards should have been given a different nomenclature, which would have at least given the impression of justifying the absurd prices that they are currently going for.

All i see in this round of card releases is a lack of competition, and we the consumer are the ones being right royally screwed.

APPLE is one reason with the issue with prices , they signed some pretty big contracts - which makes AMD and Nvidia having to fight over whats left.

you are aware that apple went to TSMC and asked them to go apple exclusive for all there output on 28nm dont you?

tsmc said no, but still they signed a huge contract on 28nm - its one reason why prices are higher this time around
