    To be honest, if Episode 3 came out tomorrow I probably wouldn't buy it.

    Without playing Episode 2, I wouldn't remember the storyline save for a pointless bit playing with balls and a gravity gun towards the end.

    Agreed, you got to play with more balls throughout the whole series and there was always a worthwhile and important reason for doing so. :)

    Although, I think we were all suckered in on this one, the fact it may actually be worked on now as we speak leaves me with a warm glow. Either that or I've been playing with my balls too much?

    I am not bothered anymore either. I still haven't got around to playing EP2 yet.
    My thoughts on why there isnt a HL3 yet is because valve have no good ideas, I guess the stuff they have come up with so far as been sub standard, and I respect them for not putting a poor half life release out there. I would rather not see another HL game than see a complete failure.
    Personally I would rather play a portal 3 right now than a half life game.

    Wouldn't be surprised by HL3 coming at some point in the future so I wouldn't say a trademark is surprising, doesn't mean it's being released any time soon(?). It may well be valve retracting it for more free advertising and keeping the rumour mill going.
