    What's all this "superfast" nonsense?

Lucky you: 52% of the country is outside Virgin's cable coverage area.

Virgin works fine (mostly), right until your neighbours sign up too.

I use an Asus wifi AC router with my superhub 2 in modem mode to get around that problem, sitting in the living room I can get 152mb download speed through my Asus Ultrabook.
Virgin's Superhubs are generally absolutely crap.

I think you're both onto something there. Have a feeling most people in my block of flats have it, and you're right that the router is certainly garbage. My housemate and I are both wired in via Ethernet, yet if he's playing LoL and I simply turn on and login to my computer, thus opening up a few connections to Dropbox etc., his ping goes up to over 1,000....

I thought BT was split in two (BT Openreach/wholesale and BT) so this couldn't happen.

On the Virgin Media front, their broadband is amazeballz on the speed front. The "Super"Hub v1 & v2 really could do with a class action lawsuit, in no way is it even close to being super, it's far off being decent. I have mine in modem mode to get around it's terribleness and use an ASUS router. I still have problems every now and again, but thats because the "Super"Hub has decided to come out of modem mode. It's night and day compared to the experience I had with TalkTalks free routers.

The biggest problem I had with the Superhub was its range and the fact it liked to reset it self everytime I started a stream via torrent or a 1080p plex stream.

Currently with Virgin and it's not bad, but had plenty of problems in the past, even when using a better router. Over saturation seems to be a bit of a problem with them from what I've heard.
