"Missing Plug-In" and no link to the video.

I do hope the official Bit-Tech advice is not to 'install Flash'.

Juicy bit of information at 27:08
Kind of implies that Shipbreakers is close to complete, and may be ready surprisingly soon.

So, OK, it's a game they were developing already which has, quite visibly, absolutely nothing to do with Homeworld in terms of storyline, style, or any specific, and which they've slapped the Homeworld brand on because they think it'll help.

I'm not sure how this can possibly go badly!

You kind of missed it's entire development then.
Hardware: Shipbreakers (as it was announced) was the 'spiritual successor' to Homeworld, developed with the same visual style, same musical style, by the same developers, and set on Totally Not Kharak. In the Gearbox developer Q&A session just prior to the release of the remastered Homeworld collection (and not long after Gearbox announced they would be funding Blackbird and licensed the Homeworld IP 'back' to them) the guys from Blackbird outright stated that Hardware: Shipbreakers was based directly on the Homeworld lore, and that when Gearbox asked them to make it an official Homeworld game it was merely a process of replacing the numbers that had been filed off.

R...right. OK. Blasting around in a dune buggy and directing gigantic interstellar fleet actions are, clearly, one and the same thing. You've made me feel so foolish!
