You've typo'd 'later' as 'alter' in the sentence about Microsoft acquiring Lionhead ten years later :thumb:

A big thumbs down for the closure though. I loved the Fable games.

such a shame, wasn't a major fan of the Fable series but Black and white is still up their with games that i loved growing up and still once in a while i'll reinstall them for a trip down memory lane.
When i did my Uni course in games design Lionhead where one of the few companies that supported the course will be sad to see another UK based company disappear.

Terrible. What's more I can't think of a game more suited to a seated VR experience than Black & White. The timing is almost funny.

Its all about money in the end of the day, The last Fable was not that good and games studios have closed on better titles.

Wasn't Fable Legends proudly shown off before the Windows 10 launch as an example of how you could play together with your Xbox-(a)using buddies...?

It was, but it was also free to play and costing a lot to develop which will have contributed to the demise.

I'm actually glad to see the death of Lionhead. Molyneux, the darling of UK gaming development, became an embarrassment years ago. Every game they produced failed to live up to it's own ambitions, and while they did produce a few good games, the games weren't exactly genre defining. I actually intended for this post to be more scathing, but I suppose a high-concept, but poorly executed condemnation is strangely fitting.
