News Nvidia kills off controversial GeForce Partner Programme

This company so needs to be brought down a peg or two.

 

I asked this some place else but as yet haven't got an answer so I'm going to ask it hear, are "partnership programs" common place in the tech industry?

I've only looked into this John Teeple guy and it seems the other two companies he's worked for (Intel & Seagate) also have "partnership programs" so are they a John Teeple thing or industry wide?

 

There are tons of "partnership programs" out there, but it can be very hard from the outside to determine how many of them have any real impact on anything vs just being some empty marketing speech.

 

So... how many people were accidentally buying Radeons instead of GeForces that this was an issue?

Seriously, nVidia, if you're gonna lie, make it a believable one.

 

I would guess less than those who bought a GTX 1030 and got a card with DDR4 RAM and lower clockspeeds, it's also probably less than those who bought a GTX 1060 3GB and thought it had the same amount of cores as its 6GB brethren, yay transparency.
