Thought process: Sweet, I'll just fill it out with false info and get my £5 for a bunch of fake crap
hang on: i could make 1,000 profiles easily enough - hope they pay well (perhaps outsourcing...)
Microsoft might need some data verification services - new venture!

Other way around: this is effectively an automation service for the GDRP 'Right to Access', the data suppliers in this case would be companies that hold data about you rather than you providing data (false or otherwise) to Microsoft.

The title reads like global blackmail. I'm still not convinced it isn't.

I'll just go out on a limb here...

Windows 11 Live £89.99 for a regular license per year
Sell parts of your data for a £4.99 discount or all your data for a £19.99 discount

    They're late to the bandwagon...

Apple have been monetising privacy for yonks with their 'our ridiculous RRPs are worth because we value your privacy... honest...' spiel.
As does virtually every VPN service.

Sadly, blackmail is still better than the current situation of "we know everything about you and there's nothing you can do to stop us selling it to everyone."
