What makes me think this is that you say you are looking in device manager...

It doesn't matter to much what way you go as the pump will be push the fluid around the system. But what I always try to do is keep the res higher than the pump so there is no chance it can run dry....

You will be just fine runniong the XMS3 at 1.8. Any Ram that is AMD approved will go as far as 1.9v. I have run XMS3 in my AMD rigs quite happily at those voltages.

Most of the older 1.65v stuff...
