The thing is, kickstarter is just a way to crowd source some money / pre-purchases /interest and hype.

With such interest made I am sure they have outside help with regards to funding the project...

I got it from steam, unfortunately it appears on american clients only so you need someone other side of the pond to gift it to you, but the complete collection was on sale for around £5 iirc

The 3220 is the latest generation and if you can get it at the same price, I would go for that, in a few years when the price of i5's or 7's have dropped you can upgrade to something with more cores....
