I have used the CX430M, I wasn't impressed with the spacing on the 2x SATA power cables, they were far too close together and I had to rearrange hard drives and the like to make it all work.

If you don't have a discreet sound card Glenn then I'd ignore that last bit. I was basically saying that digital is digital so if you had a sound card, it would be wasted if you got a set of speakers...

You'll probably find that not many or even no 2.0 or 2.1 speakers under 50 will have an Optical connection on them anyway as I found out when I was looking for speakers for Dizzy in his thread....

This is especially true if all your devices are gigabit capable, you'll be able to transfer up to around 100MB/sec. If its only fast ethernet, you'll be limited to around 10MB/sec.

Your PC won't see them as a device so your best bet is to disconnect the speakers from inside the monitor. This will of course void any warranty.
