I'm loving the Greene & Greene influence, really rather special. Can't wait to see this one completed - that's a lovely bit of woodwork you're doing there! And the dentil moulding is excellent.

If you have any more green wood to dry out try the microwave rather than an oven. I do some wood turning in my spare time amongst other things, and this is a fairly common method of speed-drying...

I'm not sure if this would work as I'm not sure whether the bearing you have shown is stationary (i.e. at the ends of the rods) or moving, but if it's the former then could you simply use some shims...
