Still, if you admit to a crime on a public forum (i.e. the internet) you can't be too surprised if the police take it seriously, and I guess seizing a server was the best way of preserving evidence. They'll probably get it back... eventually

A sportbike rider runs from the cops one night and manages to get away. Later he tells his tale on a local motorcycle forum. Law enforcement looks through this forum, read his story, identify the man(ip trace or whatever) and arrest and charge him.
The original thread is locked/deleted but it was originally posted at http://www.starboyz.com I don't know if the charges stuck or anything but a true story that big brother is always looking over your shoulder. btw... I stole the Lindgerb baby
