What would you rather? Take everything around on a phone? If a phone is just for "Talking" then you'd need quite a few things.
Pen/Paper/Stamps - Remember, a phone is "Just for talking" thats SMS out of the way. Filofax - Sorry, no phonebook... "Talking only" Calculator Games machine MP3 player... do I go on? I think its great! I have DOOM on my p910i now

The only thing I've ever used my phone for is talking and the odd calculator. Why send an email when you can call someone and not have to type it in for three hours on a tiny pad with every key representing three letters? Why drain the battery life trying to play decade-old games on a screen too small to see anything useful and, again, use that tiny keypad to control it?
It's all about the right tool for the job if you ask me. Wanna game? Get a computer or a console, I think it's safe to say that most everyone with a cell has a comp and net access. Same for email, but scrap the console part. Yes, a phone is well suited to be a portable calculator, as it actually has enough keys for that (although mine only going to two decimal places has caused problems more than once). Dunno how many songs your phone holds, but mine holds an impressive zero. Next you'll want the antenna to be threaded and motorized so you have a portable dremel, and cutoff wheels get stored behind the battery, right? Sounds stupid to me too (I don't like the idea of anything that can spin an exposed area in my pocket, let alone 5k+ RPMs) But, to each his own.

I've played both quake and quake2 on my ipaq 1945 (though quake2 got only few FPS) it is great when you're sitting on a bus/waiting room or maybe waiting for your wife to finish talking with her friends or maybe even worse... when she is shopping :O
Anyways I think it should be alright but the screen is a bit too small. Pda was alright with 320x280. |
