I think they're using Apples because the xbox360 uses a PPC-based architecture. Isn't it ironic that as Microsoft launch a PPC-based console, Apple announce that they're moving to Intel-based machines?
I used to know Jeff Minter through a mutual friend back in the days of the C64, and I have to say, he was an awesome coder. I'm glad to hear he's still around and about to hit the big-time - again

the choice for the PPC core has been said was due to cost measures, and a stab at intel's handling of 64bit. Thats just one voice i heard going round.
I like the idea of uPnP for sharing files, not couping with stupid proprietry interfaces for music (see sony,apple etc.). I hope they don't waste too much time making a 360 work with an iPod or anyother bespoke hardware! |
