that just sounds kinda dirty. or maybe that's lack of sleep getting to me again.

looks cool though, even if it rather takes away from the fits-in-the-pocket aspect a bit.

Sure, but given how they're rammed into trains like sardines (if media footage is to be believed), it seems a sensible precaution. But I'm sure so would a plastic hardcase and an inside jacket pocket... but it wouldn't look as l33t as this ^_^

A much nicer attempt at a 'full metal jacket' has been made by a iPodLounge reader here, which he has been fortunate enough to get to market by colaborating with Griifin Technolgies:

I'd be tempted to call it the 'full metal jacket' - or if you want an apple style name iSore - because lets face it - that thing is ugly - Why not just make a 2mm titanium shell and cushion the inside for shock/crush absorbance...all the protection and more at about a 10th of the weight.

methinks an adapted iwood style imetal would be superb (not following? carry on i'll explain)

A titanium/steel case cnc milled out precisely (just like Zap's recent creation but obv u'd need to use a cnc and not dremel :P) would be the best ipod mod imo. You could have shiny case and brushed wheel

As for a name for this one... IPanzer or IDemolitionMan

I liked the shuffle, but not the other. If someone could make an ipod shell to replace the existing one, i'd buy it.
