Web comics are big business

Penny Arcade fans surprised all, snapping up US$40,000 worth of merchandise in under half an hour when a new Limited Edition print went on sale on Think Geek. More swag is planned.

Well, to be fair, these prints won't have been cheap to make, so it isn't pure profit. You also need to consider Think Geek's margin as well. Overall, I'm really happy for Mike & Jerry, since they work so hard to make us all laugh each week, and the PA site is free for all to enjoy.

I believe that PA is their full-time job, so I'm happy to support their mortgage payments through merchandising. I'm super-keen to get hold of the new posters - if only shipping to Oz / UK wasn't twice the price of one poster

PA is quite good but the best gaming comic is probably videogame cats:

updated once a week - often quite sick but very very funny.

both of these are rather good:

Not a comic as-such, but this is hilarious: http://www.hlcomic.com/view.php?date=2005-05-01

So many classics like:
Gordon Frohman:"Did you lose weight?"
Combine: "NEGATIVE"

Comics, you say? I think my addiction is approaching the terminal stage - on my Firefox bookmarks toolbar I have two folders worth, one of dailies and one of others. It had reached the stage that opening them all at once in separate tabs killed my computer (Starred are certainly NSFW - some others may be occasionally dodgy)
