<A88> will become famous soon enough
Although I'm tempted to say $299, I'll say $350-399

I thought that they had confirmed the entry level 360 will have a hard drive but more expensive versions may have a bigger one.
Oh and that later version may not ship with one which is rather screwing developers up as the most it will be used for is accelerating loading if you have it.

I'm not really too bothered what price it'll be. I'll just wait until the price drops to around £200 & there are some decent modchips available!

UPDATE 11:38am: according to a report in the LA Times newspaper, Microsoft will announce US$299 and US$399. The cheaper bundle will not include the wireless gamepad, 20GB hard drive, headset, Ethernet cable and remote control bundled with the Premium version.

$100 doesnt seem too unreasonable for all thats included, if its decent quality.

Holy schmoly! £209 / £279 for the basic / premium packs. That's not too bad at all! I was seriously expecting a minimum 50% over the US prices, whereas these figures are only about 25% over the US prices, and that's calculated against a dollar that has recently weakened slightly again. For reference it's now $1.81 to the pound, whereas it did strengthen to $1.73.

$100 is a veritable bargain for the included kit. They'll probably charge $40 minimum for the remote on its own, ditto the controller. I would expect the headset will be decent-ish, so probably worth another $20, then the HDD + extras on top of that. Bargain.

I also hear the premium will ship with an xbox live silver membership, but the "Core Pack" will not. Don't quite understand that tbh - my understanding was the silver membership is free and gives access to score tables, micropurchase of additional content etc., whereas gold membership is required to play online games. I'm probably wrong - why would MS ship a box without the method to give them more money for extra content? Anyone care to enlighten?

Hopefully the wireless controllers will be well implemented and will perform as well as the wired ones.

I don't see MS shifting many Core Packs with such a good bundle of extras for a relatively small additional outlay.

They would be better off just going for one package priced at $350, price is going to be so crucial, since PS3 will probably hit in at $450-500 without a hard drive.
