I'm not sure about the sequel but I will be there for the first one this weekend. I am really excited about it.

I think the movie will be fun, likely not oscar calibre but should be entertaining. Wish they would've kept the whole demons from hell instead of genetic mutations though.

27th here in Oz - week after US. Thought a Movie Review might be fun, but it will already be old news for our US readership

It's actually built into his gun, if you look carefully. No gaffer tape required though :P I suspect all she's done is sign an Option Agreement, whereby IF they decide to make a sequel, she's up for it.

Surprisingly, the budget for the first one is "only" US$70 million, so they might have a chance of making some money. It might only make $40m ish, and flop, but it might take $100m... The key is they didn't blow US$130m on making it, like some other jumbo flops

I don't really care if it turns out good or bad, since bad films can sometimes be good in an unexpected way (although usually they have to be bad sci-fi/horror/action films).

Regarding the little screen shot in the news, is that hay in the background? With perhaps some bits of food hanging off the fence of a goat pen?

And shouldn't the title read "Doom movie MIGHT get a sequal"?

i dont see how it could be the best video game adaptation yet. I mean is ign forgetting about the first Resident Evil. That movie kicked so much a**. The second one wasnt that bad either, it was just more action and less story.

I thought that Resident Evil was the best adaptation yet. The movie managed to capture the "feel" of the game by keeping camera angles over-the-shoulder and moving through a lot of corridors. I just wish they could have included those giant spiders that used to drop on you and make you have to back-track like a mofo.

ive been reading over at the [H]ard forums and one guy got a preview screening of it...he was saying that one tiny bits of the film is based on the game..and in the end he would have rather saved his 10bucks and bought the game as the movie was pure pants!

Reasoning? I could say whoever wrote such a vague, insulting post was a moron...but I'd rather first hear why you thought that. Surely you were annoyed while playing the game that you cannot have both a flashlight and a weapon at the same time?

They found that much-needed roll of duct tape. And to think I needed to patch my game to find that roll... unrealistic indeed!

I wonder how much like resident evil this will turn out. I mean, go in for a mission and end up needing to kill five zillion zombies. I noticed in a preview somewhere (can't remember whether it was on TV or before something else I saw recently) that they show some FPS-style moves, quite unconventional as far as movies go (except for Pistolia, but if you aren't in my high school you have no idea what I'm talking about).

Still, I'm probably going to check it out on Friday. I'm always up for a hopefully-decent action flick, especially since I bought the Superbit version of Resident Evil (mmmm.... dts). For how much I hated the game I figure the movies MUST be better, whether it's anything like the game or not.

Um, yeah... That kind of talk really doesn't fly around here. Methinks you should prepare to be moderated.
