I wish I could go, but its on the other side of the planet! And who's surprised Orac³ has won? It's a georgous comptuer! I wish there were such events in the UK, they always seem to be in the US or mainland Europe.

Both Germany and the US seem to have stuff on all the time, but you're right - the UK is a little lacking. Custom PC had planned ModFest '05 to take place at i25 but it had to be cancelled. I believe they are still hoping to put it on again in the future.

The next big event is 24-27 Nov: Dreamhack Winter 2005
http://www.dreamhack.se/dhw05/en.100.html

If it was in the right hemisphere at the time, I'd definitely be going. Instead, we've got a man on the inside who can bring us all the news & cool mods.

I will be in Sydney with G-gnome, and it's always good to meet readers. Melbournians can fly up on Jetstar (if you dare) for about A$79 each way, or the Red Rat (Qantas) for about A$100 each way. Virgin Blue is pretty much the same price. Not cheap, and all the Xbox 360 play slots were booked up weeks ago, but from what I hear, WMD will make Orac look like... well, let's just say that if the guy who is making it regularly has to change his underwear while working on it each day, the rest of us are just going to be blown away (again)!

Congratulations to G-gnome, well deserved. I'm also in the minority, personally I don't like the case style but purely because of the concept rather than the implementation. Technically production was flawless and the project log is amazing to read, the end result perfectly met the original aims so in that respect the award is well deserved many times over.

Now WMD looks like more my style and if it's half as well technically as the Orac³ then I'm sure it will do well.

Well done, much deserved for such a wonderful case. it really is a shame that ppl become so opinionated about something without knowing anything about it to start with. the effort taht went into this was amazing, i don't think many other things on bit-tech have been cut up into 5 huge parts!!

can't wait for WMD to be finished, wether u can out do orac3 is still to come, but if something can do it i would hazard a guess that WMD will.

Keep on mate, ppl like you are real inspirations!

This is the thing guys - I don't want to hype it more than I should, but while WMD will certainly be "different" to Orac³, the amount that G-gnome has been spooging via MSN, it's certain to rival it for l33tness.

Can you even imagine that??

Thanks Guys. All feedback is appreciated.

TBH I've moved on to like the cleaner, sleeker look myself. WMD is certainly following this look. I have been spooging a bit to The_Pope on MSN, mainly because I'm pretty happy about how the mod is progressing, now that I am working on the really fun stuff.

I personally believe that the WMD will be my best work to date - both in looks and, importantly, practicality of the design; the final result will be quite different to the photos at the end of the WMD article, hard to go into without spoiling the surprises . Orac was more an exercise in modding and bling, I guess; something to learn some skills on.

Lots of progress mate, but it's still all work-in-progress. As soon as it's finished, we'll get Part 2 of the worklog written for y'all to enjoy.

I too believe G-Gnome's Orac3 deserved to win!

Orac3 is something amazing, reading the detailed project logs the first time was, something I don't have words for =]

Can hardly wait for more on the WMD!

L2wis nicely said about the shower ho's, have to agree with that

Mad props to G-Gnome for Orac3 and WMD (for what we've seen so far)!

Thanks Sathy.

WMD is coming along really well. I've been working on it full-time for the last 5 weeks and it is on target to be finished and unveiled at AtomicLive on 8th December. Expect the final build article to be out the week after. Plenty of surprises in store.
