I'm utterly amazed there hasn't been more response to this story. Oppurtunity of a lifetime and noone has a word to say. Maybe the rubbishness of Doom3 has tainted everyone's opinions of id?

Looked good until I read that you must live in Dallas, only a few people on bit lives in Dallas AND fills the rest of the requirements.

But yes, it would be some opportunity of a lifetime.

Sounds like a fun job....... Have you ever noticed that John Carmack looks a lot like Patrick Duffy from the old Dallas TV show?

Well, you have to live in Dallas, have a work visa for the US etc. If this was posted on somewhere like Hardocp then it would have more attention because it has a greater US population. I did look at id the other day actually, along with crytek and monolith.

I imagain the hours would be horific and such a job would consume your entire life like a monster out of doom

. You can't rearly balme the coders from doom the actaul engine is rearly good and some of the interface is amazing (clickable screens ect.). It's just the creative guys did the wrong thing trying to go inbetween the original DOOM and deus EX. You can't have meaningfull story involving mass saulghter of giant space pigs and flaming heads.

try any game Id ever made.. EVER.

doom3 = (any_maze_nonsense_ID_game) + darkness

maybe they want someone that will make a black page with a buncha nonsensical words that are links on it that lead to other black pages with more nonsensical words on it. and it just sorta loops like that and repeats. oh and the words only show up on mouse over or else theyre black too! like a flashlight! but when you click to "shoot" the link the words disappear again

Actually, we have a large US readership, plus you don't HAVE to live in Dallas NOW - you can relocate if you choose.

It's just a bit of light-hearted news - would you prefer to hear how S3 have chosen Fujitsu to manufacture their new Chrome graphics core on their 90nm process?
