after seeing the latest rumours at inq i think i can wait a little longer. If nvidia are really pushing 7800gtx up to 550/1800 then 1800xt could be obselete 2 weeks after release.

yeah, the price has gone up $100...

So much for ATI having reasonable stock levels. I understand that AllStarShop had 15 (!!) cards total. I really hope we don't see another X800XT PE, because they're pricing themselves out of the market at $150 over MSRP.

The Biggest Kicker though is the fact that the 7800GTX has been out for a good 6 months, and they just NOW got its compition released (and not very well either), and its only slightly better, but in most cases from what I've been able to find out, exactly the same or worse! The 7800GTX 512mb could be the nails in the coffin, so to speak of ATI, thought I'm sure they will keep a large chunk of the market share because of the integrated graphics area, and partnerships they have with Intel, HP, Gateway and Sony.
