Personalised homepages are not new, but I do like the minimalist functionality of it. Let's see how the gadgets develop, and if there will be some options to customising the page GUI-wise.

Looks vert smart, and nice to see they're making it fully compatible with firefox to avoid the usual browser conflict issues. Let's hope it develops into something genuinly useful-I could see it fast becoming a site I use regularily if it gets better. The possibility of being able to add RSS feeds as required will make scanning Engadget and BBC news much easier

Some of the features sound very promising. Hopefully it wont be a gimmick, but more of a centralised place for users to start their browsing from.

I've been comparing this with Google's personalized homepage, and at the moment they're still similar. I mean, really similar. But I can't have both as my home page!

Yeah, Google wins this one. They had it first, and it looks better, IMO. Have fun playing catch-up MS.

<3 google.com/ig. Easily configurable, minimalist and sleek looking, and it's got a nice feel to it. I'm surprised they're adding Firefox compatibility at all, though.

Oh, and

<![if !IE]><script src="http://stj.live.com/live/extern/atlas/compat/0.082305.0-private/AtlasCompat.js"></script><![endif]>

that was hiding in the code for Live. I wonder if you changed your browser to identify as IE (I know Opera has this option standard), if Live would work. Then again, there would probably be code problems anyway, and it would look like trash.

ive been toying with this since theyve been made it available. The RSS feeds arent very reliable and so far theres not really any useful gadgets other than maybe the to-do list unless you like in a specific us city that has traffic forcasts. Other than that theres nothing exactly revolutionary going on there.

Just tried that in Opera, didn't work.

I can't really see the point in the ticking clock. Should just be a standard element on every page and not it's own tool.

Here are the gadgets I'd like to see:
- traffic reports by city, the same way weather is done
- what's on TV tonight
- calendar or to-do list (I would use this all the time!)
- instant messaging (both will probably do this eventually)
- radio station feeds

looks alot like google's homepage to me. since i'm not an ms fan i know i will stay clear plus i doubt they will add that much support for a browser that is slowly becoming actual competition for one of their own flawed products. not that the fox doesn't have its own issues for all u ms nazi's out there. although i hope there aren't many in these forums

Live TV, able to switch channels between popular networks
Downloadable MP3's from the top artists
iPod integration with the online media library
MSN Maps integration
