Is there any logic on the PCB Wil? It just looks like a pin-converter to me. I guess since the chipset supports both DDR and DDR2, maybe that's all it needs...

i think im missing something. they have done the duo boards for a while with both ddr1 and ddr2 slots on the board

Yahuh. I saw one a while back for 915 chipsets cause they supported DDR and DDR2.

being picky, there is a typo here "seen on in the flesh until now" - needs an e on the end of on(e)

That's not being picky mate - there's correct, and incorrect. We do try to maintain a high standard - some people think it doesn't matter just because it's the Internet. Thanks for the heads-up.

Quite a few 915 boards have both, in fact.

A bit pointless imo unless it's under $10, or else you're really just paying more to prolong the inevitable.

Yea some had both onboard, but it takes up PCB space. Also, the DDR slots tended to be more inefficient than the corresponding DDR2.
