I remember back in the day when I was looking for a new vid card. There was the PowerVR series of cards to choose from, but ultimately I got myself a Matrox Millenium. That computer could barely run Quake 2, and now I can run Quake 3 on a PDA? This is getting a little ridiculous. What's next, UT2003 on a wristwatch?

Its great the game you can get on a PDA, I've had Tomb Raider, scumm and mame on my old Axim X5, along with Doom. But this looks even better.
Think in another 5 years I'll be able to play Half Life 2 or DoD multiplayer on the next next next gen PDA.

if PDAs are still used in 5 years ;p
when you look about at how things have changed since like 2000 it doesnt seem much in the "view out of your window sense" but then when you look in detail at technology its like WTF o.0 it's just a shame that its not adopted by joe public quickly enough :/ |

Cool tech showcase, but utterly pointless.

im not intent on spending money on a pda just for the fact it plays a few old games. its probably comprimised many parts of the PDAs normal functions so it can do that. although, if they come out with one that plays cod2...

3D games on mobiles aren't that far off. In fact, I had some rudimentary 3d games on my k700i - one ran far too quick! (I forget what it was called, some java game involving racing cars around).

I'll add to the "I don't know what is more scary", the fact that quake 3 is that old now or the fact that the computer i had back then to run it on is now my ipod?

I must say that even I am impressed. Heck, until I built my current PC in early 2004, my machine was about as powerful as that PDA; I could run Quake III playably, but not excelently. (I got the machine in late 2000, a K-6 500MHz, and later added a Radeon 7000 not long after that)

Back to the matter at hand. What about when they come out with consumerly available bio-interfaces that connect directly to the human nervous system. Q3 on a PDA won't look so exciting anymore. |

Hmm... It seems that many of you are already lost causes, and are doomed to be sucked into a game that will be directly connected to your nervous system and you'll never leave. There will be no worries that you'd melt in real sunlight, because you'd never move. You'll all be ripe for exploitation, skimming off some body heat using some form of coccoon around you, and perhaps even using your bodies and minds for other resources as well; biological factories, if you will, and perhaps even able to support the entire game with your own combined brain power, and perhaps even have some left-over resources. Hmm... I wonder why I didn't give this scheme more thought before. Hmm...
