How long would it take for the history file to reach 10.5Mb? To me, that seems quite large (ie, would take quite a while)...

I save a 9 days history, 718k ATM. So 10.5Mb would be around 4 months-worth for me. The problem's not going to affect many people...

yeah but can malicious code be executed because of that overflow? And come on, that is a REALLY easy fix for the mozilla team.

Especially if you're sane enough to not save history from the last four months. Mine's just a day or two.

The real issue was some exploit that caused the history file to have a TON of data written to it, pushing it over that limit. Not that it harms anything, you just have to delete the history.dat file before you can open the thing again.

A minor inconvenience (if it ever becomes an issue for anyone), considering that when IE crashes, it takes any Windows-shell app with it. Including the desktop... *shudder*

Hehehe, even if this would become a problem, i doubt it's because of the pressure to these guys. They won't be going to the level of IE

All hail to Firefox (and Safari). I bet that if there are even more users coming to Firefox, that they'll "hire" more developers. They will most definately not lose to IE (go go!)

A link to the code was on digg, and I played a joke on a friend

Works like it says and firefox crashes - Just delete history.dat to cure!
