Doesnt complement the the ipod design at all, which is just a no no for any ipod fanboys after accessories (not me)... its hardly discrete or aesthetically pleasing either.

Something leaning more towards the neatness of a bluetooth headset would be better.

Sounds pretty cool tho

How many geekpoints would that headgear earn ya then

if they put it in to sunglasses or somthing that is not as bulky and look better than the one shown then maybe but not for the one shown also for the price it is not worth it to watch the movies. get a laptop and some dvds for the price of the two items combined

It sounds really cool but the problem I have with this is, with typical big screens you can enjoy a film with others, play video games etc etc etc.

With this, you are spending a LOT of money for apersonal movie screen. To enjoy it, you would have to sit down for the duration of a long movie. Are you going to go sit in a corner, don your headset and watch your movie? It just doesnt seem very practical for movie viewing when you typically want to watch a movie in your living room and usually do so with company.

So the only other alternative use is for small media clps while you're on the move, or for people who travel a lot. I cant justify that kind of money to watch music videos and small clips with, and with traveling it seems slightly obtrusive. The reason the ipod is so great is its small and inconspicuous. You put it in your pocket, fire up your musical entertainment and forget about it. it doesnt make you feel like you have a frickn' laser beam attached to your head

Then again, i could be wrong.. just my opinion.

Yes, indeed. I've heard all sorts of horror stories about WoW; I've lost friends to it. As for the piracy bit, anyone hear of some Swedes looking to start a Piracy (political) Party, which would nuke IP laws and whatnot within Sweden? I found the idea a bit amusing.

As for the actual product... interesting idea, but I doubt it'll catch on, especially at that price. That plus a 60GB costs a cool grand, not too economical for a few hours of video that probably can't look too great.

Regarding the resolution, I think you can play up to 640x480 for mpeg4, 480x480 (square?? dunno but I read it somewhere) for h.264. Still, on a "105-inch" screen, I can't imagine it looking good. Then again, it doesn't look too horrible on a normal TV; at least much better than on a computer monitor. I've played around with video-out on mine, and it's certainly not too impressive from what I transcoded. Questionable downloads were a bit better but still nothing I'd want to watch on a big screen.

Damned stoopid idea... we humans are equipped with binocular vision which means two eyes. Take one right eye and make it focus to the top of teh screen one inch away to try to see down Angelina Jolie's top. Then pair that with the left eye thats looking down to tie yo shoe lace and waddya get? Not EyeBud but iStrain! We'll all turn into chameleons dude! Sure this isnt an early April fools?

well although the glasses do look stupid at the moment, that sort of micro display is getting a lot of development time! i watched a bit off quidditch on an OLED micro display and it was pretty cool! i think the display was about 8mm accross, but looked like a fairly large tv about a foot in front of me!

nonetheless...i wouldnt pay for one!

Yeah it looks silly, and although this may only apply to a minority, it would be excellent for long haul flights for those who have to make regular business trips. Much better than watching that little screen on the chair in front of you, especially when it is ocupied by an annoying kid that just won't stop fidgiting making the screen jump around !

I will only buy another IPOD when they include a Sirius satellite radio receiver. Video would be a plus but I don't know how much I'd use the video part. I sold my last one, a 3rd gen 20GB after only a month or two. I bought into the IPOD hype. It's really no better or worse than any other hard drive MP3 player. Plus I freakin hate earbuds.

The 'video glasses' idea has been around for ages...all they've done is cut it in half, tweaked it, and branded it accordingly.

Load of tosh imo
