That's pretty cool, and a good alternative for those of us that can't afford/don't want a HTPC (providing that these things are gonna be cheaper)...

Plus, it means you can watch your downloaded video anywhere (got a mate with no PC? No problem!)

oooo handy. Its about time they introduce somthing like this but i cant wait for the problems that the film industry might have with this sort of Plug&play movie mover.

Although i just think its a more modern version on a DVD or VHS copy of a TV program (be that a movie that aired on a public channel.)

Yeah ive seen similar at the local computer fairs.

WMV DIVX XVID etc etc etc support, barebones (no hdd) for around £70

Add a decent HDD and u have a nice HTPC style system only prob is it dont record and the only way to transfer data to it is via USB. If it had either of those features it would really ROCK.

To be honest, while it sounds like a good solution, any thing with a 500GB HDD is going to cost more then a cheap HTPC would.

Thinkgeek has a similer device but it is $200 With out a Hard drive. to me it is not worth it as my desktop sits very close to my tv now

seen lots of similar products on ebay, some with laptop hds some with 3.5 hds, all good, im thinkin of gettin one for my uncle, he hates pcs but loves the movies which "come out" of my pc...

cool i like that would like more than MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and AVI files tho i.e. jpg wmv and mp3 and so on
