Its not just trying to be firefox in my opinion. the tabbing is nice but most browsers have had it for years, opera, firefox etc. They are just progressing behind all the other browsers.

Its an improvement.
But still only something i would only use when looking at microsoft sites like windows update as opera doesnt like that much.

Assuming they sort out the security, I'd definitely use it over Firefox. Renders pages faster, loads faster, has tabs, and I don't make use of any extensions in Firefox.

Sadly I think that IE7 will slow FF's growth because it has just enough to make Firefox not quite worth installing for the average user who makes up IE's 90% (or whatever) market share.

Sounds like it'll still be an ass for developers though, much like IE6 is/was.

It'll be interesting to see

yea i agree...seems IE7 have added just enough to put most people off bothering to move to FF...and thus their market share wont sink any lower....or so they hope....roll on FF2

No way can anyone expect MS to change their own 'standards' to the extent that sites that work in IE6 will go wobbly in IE7. That's not just shooting yourself in the foot, it's a head shot.

There's ways of allowing 'correct' code to be rendered correctly just be using document type recognition, i.e. any document with type html4, xhtml, etc would be standards compliant so should be rendered as such. If no document type is declared then it can be rendered in IE mode.

The quick tab function is very nice, you press it and you are presented with thumbnails of each tab, very nice.

LOL, Just noticed the default search uses google, msn search is listed but not the default.

I tried it out this morning. It has some good features and I like the thumbnail view as well as the ability to zoom the page both for display and for printing.

However it broke some XML features (XSL stylesheet rendering) that I was working on so I had to remove it. It was very easy to un-install, just check off "show updates" in Add/Remove programs and you should get IE 7 Beta 2 in the list.

I personally have been using and am happy with Avant browser, which is basically IE with tabs. I use Opera on my old laptop because of it's speed. I used FireFox for a while but the memory usage was kinda silly and it was too slow for me.

I like it so far. Definately better then IE6.

BTW yoda, is that Vista you're using, or a custom Windows theme. If it is a theme, how'd/where'd you get it (If it's vista then don't worry about it).

wtf?!
Inspirat needs like 85 MB even if I uncheck EVERYTHING?! C'mon, what's that supposed to mean?
