I would buy it if it had 6 keys. I could put it on the left hand side of my KB and use it for macro keys in WoW.

That's a lot of cash for 3 keys, however cool.

I'm going to wait for the full keyboard.

Waiting for the ergonomic version fo the full size keyboard here.

It just looks fantastically usefull.

Does it pick up what software is running/currently active and displays the appropriate keys I wonder though?

IE - just windows explorer open and it shows CTRL, ALT and DEL?

As a proof of concept device its quite good, shows the nay-sayers that the idea works (if it does). however a 3 by 3 grid would have been a little bit more useful, could have nearly had a swirly number pad for instance.

Dude! My idea! SH!

Seriously, though, I found out about Art Lebedev about 2 months before he released his Optimus design. He designed some product we almost bought, I looked, etc. I want the full-size! Damn the cost!

The image quality on the keys is way better than i imagined.
Off cause this little baby is way too expensive but when the real deal lands I gotta have one.

It'll be neat to see the mapping changing when you press and hold ctrl+shift for some random shortcut.

sooo 100 for 3 keys = 33.33 per key and a full size keyboard is going to have 123 keys by my count from their picture.. sooo 33.33 * 123 = $4099.59!!

lets hope the pricing drops a bit! although the statement on their website, "After April 2, 2006 the price will be higher." doesnt inspire much confidence in that!

I'd love the full version but it'll be waaaay too impractically priced, as is this mini-ripoff version.

As everyone's been saying, 3 keys just isn't enough. 6 or a 3x3 grid would provide enough for most apps but not 3. The full keyboard seems overkill to me. After all, who doesn't know which keys do what in there games? What would be cool is a 'numpad' version so you could have a nice sleek normal keyboard (sans numpad) with a multipurpose pad for all those little extras. All fitting in the same foot print as a normal keyboard.

the price will drop as soon as the technology gets more comon and mass production comes into the picture. any way if the final product was about 200$ and was realty ergonomic and had a god key texture/feel i would realy save some cash to buy one.

it doesn't work that way.....
this 3 keys are larger and the screens have higher resolution than the screens/keys you find on the keyboard. look better at the pictures...it was said that they could buy the screens for the keyboard 1$ each in large scale obviously.

Good to show that they can actually do it, I was a bit sceptical about whether they wuld be able to pull off the full keyboard before this, but now I think they will be able to.
However, the price means that it is something that I can probably never have, which is quite annoying. If I did, I would be too worried about breaking it.

Exactly my idea! I thought that the resource monitoring keys looked rather interesting... Imagine having it flush in the bezel of your PC and toggling between resources (or using it to control Winamp) just by punching the buttons!

One word: NEEEEED!!!

i cant see it being THAT much cheaper. even if the keys on the 3 key "keyboard" are 10x better (higher resolution/size), they would cost like $10 then. i cant see these keys being 33 times better, and costing 1/30th the price. either that or theyre trying to rip some people off bigtime with this and make some quick cash. and honestly i'd be very pissed if i bought a thing with 3 keys for $100 and then a thing with 123 keys came out costing only $200-$300.
