As far as I remember from san andreas, killing prostitutes was fairly pointless. I remember that having sex with them was positive though, and the reward for running them over was miniscule (just another hedgehog to be honest) and got boring in GTA3, some 4 years ago.

The other part they played was in it was the "pimp" missions, where you have to keep your ho's safe from naughty punters, and make sure they don't get killed. This had a decent incentive, quite good pay and a bonus for finishing all 10 missions.

All in all, it's just another criticism from more people who haven't played the game, and base their opinion on what other people who never played it have said.

And that's ridiculous even without considering how little any parent is going to take notice of SWOP.

my cousin was 11 when we finished his copy of GTA.SA on the PS2 and he is the most responsible, smartest and cool kid his age i know, he is now 13, and is not a violent demon devoid of all morals and will happily rape and murder prostitutes.

please dont say it is irresposible to give children certain games because there are children that have more maturaty that certain adults and that is not bad these days and with good guidance they can be big foundations for the future.

I do think the states needs to enforce a similar system to that which we have in the UK prohibiting people under certain ages obtaining films/games that are not suitable for their ages.
Also as said common sense is required with this method.

I still think they should ban GTA however just for being a total load of rubbish. (imo)

the games are rated for ppl over 18, its on the damn box, if you cant read that, thats your own fualt, i remember heading down to gamestop one day and talking to an employee who was a psychology major at a local collage. I dont recall very well the actual story very well, but he did a really big report for that class or w/e, and it was on the relationship between violence and video games, he found out that the percentage of violent acts that can be related to vieo games is a meager .007%.

Ive probably spent more combined hours playing gta games than any other games I have, however I have not killed anyone, or beat anyone, or did any of the other terrible stuff the violent video games make people do. Rockstar knows how to advertise their games, get people pissed about it and it gets word of mouth advertisement.

I think americans should be looking more closely at the true cause of these incedents of violence from video games. I mean there qwas this kid who trained on Doom 3 and GTA to become a better killer (somehow) and went and killed a load of his classmates with a gun. The thing they should really have been looking into is how the hell he got a gun and why someone let him have it.

As far as I can remember, we had one incedent in the UK where children were killed in thier schools, after that handguns were banned. I've lost count of the times that has happened in the US, plus all the other gun crime, yet they do nothing about it because taking away the rights to own a gun would be against the constitution and they can't have that can they.

Yet again common sence loses to patriotism.

Having said that I'm gonna have to emigrate over there to avoid the huge taxe increases when 95% of the UK turn into OAPs.

No we can't. Just because a bunch of low-life criminals break the law doesn't mean we should amend our constitution to keep people from owning guns all together. If someone wants to use a gun for an illegal reason, like murder, then do you really think that something like owning an illegal weapon is gonna change their mind? "Oh, I was gonna kill my wife for cheating on me, but since it's illegal to own a gun I guess I'll just forget about it!" You can't cut off your arm if you have an itchy finger, you know what I mean?

I completely agree with your first point though. We can't just say "oh this happened because he played DooM and became a psycho" and then go after the videogame/movie/music industries. Sociopaths are born sociopaths and nothing can change that. The sooner people start to realize that the sooner we can start doing something about it.

Remember, there are 300 million people in this country. There is BOUND to be a lot more crime than smaller countrys like England. Just don't get the wrong idea and think because there were some school shootings that all Americans are a bunch of gun toting cowboys with dangerously blind patriotism.

As for the game...Seriously... its a game, it has a rating on it. Parents make their own twisted decisions when they put an 8yr old behind the stick of the game. I have played all of the GTA games and am not off killing, carjacking, and stealing from folks. My favorite games are from the SOCOM series and I see more young children on the game that are WAY below the rating age. It is up to parents to be parents... end of story. No one wants to take responsibility for their messups... they want to blame their child being twisted on something else.

The only real use i ever found to killing Prostitutes was that it gave you a nice instant rebate...
