Perhaps build a track at my local park so that I can pop down during tests and watch

There are plenty of disused airfields in the UK, so I doubt it's going to be a huge problem, I'm guessing the reason why Oxfordshire was mentioned was becasue Clarkson lives in Oxford.

And would they have to get rid of all the times on their scoreboard due to the fact there's going to be a new track, or will they make it to the same as the current?

This is a bit of a shame, but like they say, i'm sure they'll find something else easily.
What is it with unused runways being taken over for homes, first silverstone, now this?

i dont really see the problem, just means that the people who live nearby will get a bit upset as they cant go to the recording of the shows, but other people that live near their new site will be able to. ive no hopes of them coming around here so it wotn bother me at all, as i doubt it will make a massive difference to the quality of the show on TV.
i wonder if the stig will have a say in this though as he is the one who is going to be caning the cars around the circuit, the old one he must be able to drive with his eye closed i bet.

To be honest I think it can only only improve things, it will give them a chance to freshen things up a bit. We can't complain about change either as this is one thing they have always been good at implementing.

Quote:
But permission to build the circuit was denied by councillors last week after concerns it would generate pollution.
Pollution?, well the local council is hardly improving the situation with there poorly designed/implemented transport system.

Quote:
At present it is filmed on Dunsfold Aerodrome but programme makers need to relocate within the next three years due to plans to build more than 2,500 homes on the site.
Atleast they've got a bit of time to look for new sites.

Used to live not far from the track, so hopefully they will come to the old airfield near where i am now

Also the pollution claim is crazy. They only run a few cars around a few times a week. If they truely believed this they would not build any more roads or any more housing developments. Imagine how many cars you get with a 200 house build. Far more than anything top gear could put out polution wise.

Not really - I thought this was already covered and that the Stig was multiple annonymous people (whoever was handy on the day). We all think it's the same person because of the same white clothes/helmet.3

The track would have to be the same to keep any sort of credibility on the time sheet too - both for demo cars and celebrity lap times.
